Programs

The Alliance has two yearly programs that are designed to raise awareness of preservation across the state; the 10 Most Endangered Historic Properties List and the Preservation Awards.

The 10 Most Endangered is the Alliance’s way to raise awareness of historic resources that are threatened throughout the state, while the Preservation Awards showcase top preservation efforts. Both programs encourage participation from local preservationists and concerned individuals by nominating projects in their communities. The 10 Most Endangered List has been raising awareness of threatened properties since 1992, while the Preservation Awards have be commending preservation efforts since 1985.

Minnesota Main Street, a program of the Preservation Alliance of Minnesota, is recognized by the National Trust Main Street Center® as the official statewide coordinating program in Minnesota.  Minnesota Main Street began its work in May of 2010 providing participating local Main Street organizations with the training, tools, information, and networking they need to be successful in their downtown revitalization efforts.

The Minnesota Main Street Program has been financed in part with funds provided by the State of Minnesota from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund through the Minnesota Historical Society.
