The Friends of Minnesota Barns are offering several workshops this summer for preserving historic barns. For more information on classes offered, contact Christina Harrison at 612.870.9775.

June 7th - The Art of Stone Masonry
A workshop held at Dream Acres Farm, near Spring Valley in Fillmore County, is being lead by master mason Ted Wilson. Ted will teach step-by-step how to mix mortar to match existing mortar, teach how to repair and rebuild a barn foundation and also demonstrate how to lay the walls of a spring house. This class will be of great value for both the hands on person and for those who need to hire help and want to make sure the work is done right!

This workshop is $45 and includes lunch. Workshop will be held from 9:00 and - 5:00 pm. Please dress is appropriate work clothing, such as boots, work gloves and a hat. Tools will be provided. Reserve your spot by May 30, 2008 by calling 612.870.9775.
